There is power in service and volunteering to build unity in the community. Search Just Serve for local volunteer opportunities.
Brothers and Sisters, the general leadership of the Church has asked that local congregations take part in a super service project under the JustServe program, around the time of September 11.
This year, we have the opportunity to join with the Wasilla Stake and support a project sponsored by the Mat-Su Borough. Together, we’ll be helping clean up the Williwaw neighborhood, just past Seward Meridian near the Wasilla Stake Center.
The project will take place September 11th, 12th, and 13th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
We invite everyone—individuals, families, friends, and groups such as Young Men, Young Women, Relief Society, Priesthood, and Primary—to get involved.

This will be a meaningful way to serve together and bless our community.

This large-scale effort brings together the Borough, the nonprofit FISH (Families for the improvement of safety & health), the LDS Church, and several other local organizations, all working in coordination to restore pride and cleanliness to the neighborhood.
Volunteers will help with trash removal, beautification projects, minor repairs, and general cleanup activities aimed at making Williwaw a safer, healthier, and more welcoming place for all residents. This is more than just a cleanup—it's a revitalization effort that reflects the power of community collaboration and care.
Whether you're a local resident, community member, or part of an organization looking to make a difference, your time and energy can help bring positive change to Williwaw!
We need as many mowers and weed trimmers (weed eaters) as possible because the Borough does not own that type of equipment. There is a kickoff party to rally the community on Sunday August 31 from noon to 3pm. All volunteers will need to sign a waiver and will be volunteering under the F.I.S.H. organization. Forms will be provided at a later time.
The cleanup is from 8am to 5pm on September 11, 12, 13.
